How do I Connect AT&T cellular modem to the Internet using my PC?

Connect using Windows 7 or earlier
  1. Insert your data card into your computer.
    • AT&T AllAccess will begin installing if it wasn’t found on your computer. Follow the on-screen prompts.
  2. AT&T AllAccess will automatically launch.  This typically takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
  3. Click Connect to connect to the desired network type:

    • Mobile: Connect to the AT&T wireless network.
    • Wi-Fi: Connect to a Wi-Fi network or hotspot.
      • To view or select available Wi-Fi networks, click the Wi-Fi network drop-down.
      • If accessing a secure Wi-Fi network, you will be prompted to enter the Wi-Fi network security credentials.
      • To view a list of AT&T Wi-Fi Hotspots, click the Wi-Fi network drop-down > Open Wi-Fi Manager >  Find free AT&T Wi-Fi.
      • AT&T AllAccess will automatically connect to Wi-Fi If you are in range of an AT&T hotspot or Wi-Fi network you have previously connected to.
         

If unable to connect

  1. AT&T AllAccess “connect” button is grayed out. The device is currently out of range for mobile or Wi-Fi network access. Go to www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer to view coverage maps.
  2. AT&T AllAccess displays “No mobile network detected”.
    1. Remove and reinsert your data card.
    2. Verify your data card is within mobile network coverage: www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer.
  3. Test Internet connectivity.
     

If unable to install AT&T AllAccess

  1. Verify your computer uses one of the following operating systems: Windows XP, Vista, or 7.
  2. If you received your device from an internal IT department, please contact them for support. The corporate (NSV) version of this device does not include installation software.
  3. If the AT&T AllAccess installation package does not automatically appear when your data card is inserted, go to “My Computer” and double click on the drive that shows AT&T AllAccess.
Connect using Windows 8 or Windows RT
  1. Insert your data card into your computer.
    • If your computer is already connected to the Internet, the computer will automatically download the AT&T AllAccess app if not already installed. This will take 2-3 minutes.
  2. Mouse over to the upper right hand corner of the screen and then select Settings.

3. Select the networks icon.

4. In the Mobile broadband section, select AT&T.

5. Select ‘Connect automatically’ and click Connect.

  • If this is the first time inserting your data card into your computer, AT&T recommends installing the AT&T AllAccess app to view account data usage and control application settings:
    1. Select AT&T.

 

2. Select Get the recommended app.

3. Select Install.

If unable to connect

  1. Verify you are within AT&T mobile coverage at: www.att.com/coverageviewer/. If not, move to an area within AT&T mobile coverage.
  2. Remove and reinsert your data card into your computer.
  3. If still unable to connect, restart your computer.
Connect using Mac OS X 10.8 or later
  1. Insert your data card into your computer.
    1. Download and install AT&T AllAccess from here if it is not already installed on your computer.
  2. AT&T AllAccess will automatically launch.  This typically takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
  3. Click Connect to connect to the desired network type:

    • Mobile: Connect to the AT&T wireless network.
    • Wi-Fi: Connect to a Wi-Fi network or hotspot.
      • To view or select available Wi-Fi networks, click the Wi-Fi network drop-down.
      • If accessing a secure Wi-Fi network, you will be prompted to enter the Wi-Fi network security credentials.
